Meeting of the Board of Directors of the Union of Arab Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions

On June 16, 2025, Professor Mohamed Boukhari, President of the National Economic, Social and Environmental Council (NESEC), in his capacity as President of the Union of Arab Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions, chaired the meeting of the Union’s Board of Directors, held via videoconference.

The meeting was attended by the presidents and representatives of the board-member councils from the following Arab countries:

The President of the Economic and Social Council of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Vice-President of the Union;

The Economic and Social Council of the State of Palestine;

The Economic, Social and Environmental Council of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania;

The Economic, Social and Environmental Council of the Republic of Lebanon;

The Economic, Social, and Environmental Council of the Kingdom of Morocco.

Also in attendance was the representative of the Director General of the Arab Labor Organization (ALO), the permanent patron of the Union's proceedings.

The agenda focused on preparations for the Union's participation in the Euro-Mediterranean Summit of Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions, scheduled to take place in Istanbul on June 23 and 24, 2025, through an exchange of views and proposals, particularly regarding the substance of the address to be delivered on behalf of the Union.

Furthermore, the members of the Board of Directors reviewed the Union's roadmap for the year 2025, exploring ways to enrich it and accelerate its implementation.
