Professor Mohamed Boukhari, President of the National Economic, Social and Environmental Council (NESEC), in his capacity as President of the Union of Arab Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions, chaired on Sunday, 14 September 2025, the proceedings of the Union’s Board of Directors meeting, held both at the Council’s headquarters and via videoconference.
The meeting was attended by the presidents and representatives of the board-member councils from the following Arab countries :
- President of the Jordanian Economic and Social Council, Vice President of the Union;
- Palestinian Economic and Social Council;
- Mauritanian Economic, Social, and Environmental Council;
- Lebanon Economic, Social and Environmental Council;
- Moroccan Economic, Social, and Environmental Council.
Also in attendance was the representative of the Director General of the Arab Labor Organization (ALO), the permanent patron of the Union's proceedings.
The agenda focused on preparations for the forthcoming Arab Symposium, organized in coordination with the Arab Labor Organization, on the theme: “Artificial Intelligence Technologies and the Future of Human Skills”, scheduled to take place in Algiers on 22–23 October 2025. The meeting also reviewed the necessary arrangements for convening the 2025 General Assembly of the Union of Arab Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions.
