Professor Mohamed Boukhari, President of the National Economic, Social and Environmental Council (NESEC), in his capacity as President of the Union of Arab Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions, chaired on Sunday, 14 September 2025, the proceedings of the Union’s Board of Directors meeting, held both at the Council’s headquarters and via videoconference.

The meeting was attended by the representative of the Director of the Arab Labor Organization (ALO), along with the presidents and representatives of the Economic and Social Councils of the following member states: the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the State of Palestine, the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, the Republic of Lebanon and the Kingdom of Morocco.

The agenda focused on preparations for the forthcoming Arab Symposium, organized in coordination with the Arab Labor Organization, on the theme: “Artificial Intelligence Technologies and the Future of Human Skills”, scheduled to take place in Algiers on 22–23 October 2025. The meeting also reviewed the necessary arrangements for convening the 2025 General Assembly of the Union of Arab Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions.

It should be noted that Algeria currently holds the presidency of the Union, hosts its headquarters and oversees the management of its General Secretariat.
